Nikos Angelopoulos was born in Agrinio in 1985. He graduated from the music school of the same city in 2003. He comes from Terovo in Ioannina and Valaora in Evrytania. He received his degrees in Harmony (Excellent, 2005) and Counterpoint (Very good, 2007) from the National Conservatory of Music and in Fugue (Excellent, 2010) from the Conservatory of Western Greece. She is a graduate of the Department of Music Studies of the Kapodistrian University of Athens (2011). She has studied traditional music and makam theory with Christos Tsiamoulis at the Athens Conservatory. Lafta (polite lute) with Nikos Mermigas and Pericles Papapetropoulos, Sterrian/Insean lute with Christodoulos Zoumba, Christos Zotos, Kostas Sideris, George Papaioannou and folk-rembetika guitar with Xenophon Poulos. He has also studied piano and classical guitar at the National Conservatory of Music, both at “intermediate” level. He has been a member of many orchestras in traditional Greek dance groups. With these she has participated in many traditional dance festivals in Europe. He taught the lute during the school year 2013-2014 at the Music School of Piraeus. Since 2010 he has been teaching lute at the Athens Conservatory and is a member of the conservatory’s traditional orchestra since 2008. From September 2011-2014 he taught the Polite and land lute at the seminars of the Association of Friends of the Museum of Folk Instruments in Plaka and since 2015 he teaches at the Centre for Greek Music “Phoebus Anogeianakis”. He participated as a teacher in the “Music Synaxis in Tavgetos” (2011, 2013, 2014, 2018) with a seminar on the lute of the mainland / island. The harmonic accompaniment of tropical music is a field on which she has been working and teaching continuously since 2014. At the beginning of 2011 he released his first recording entitled “Ten Musical Stories”. He is also a founding member of the mainland band “Kyratzides” and the music group “doros” which performs original musical compositions of its members, which are recorded on the homonymous cd released in 2014.
