From the academic year 2022-23 the former MSc “Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology” with specialization in “Performance/interpretation of traditional music” will be transformed into “Ethnomusicology and Music Practice”, with two sub-specializations: “Performance/interpretation of traditional-folk music” and “Performance/interpretation of urban-folk music”. These specialisations include more specific directions in terms of singing and the musical instruments taught.

In the winter semester of the academic year 2022-23 (start: October 2022), the new two-year (4 semesters) MSc “Ethnomusicology and Music Practice” will begin, initially in the specialization “Performance/Interpretation of Traditional Folk Music”, where a total of twenty (20) students will be selected in the following directions:
3 (three) for the direction Traditional Singing
2 (two) for the direction Traditional Percussion
2 (two) for the direction Popular Clarinet
2 (two) for the direction Popular Violin
2 (two) for the direction Uti
2 (two) for the Lute direction
2 (two) in the direction of Kanonaki
2 (two) for the direction Santouri
1 (one) for the direction Aegean Lyre (Cretan-Dodecanese Lyre)
1 (one) for the direction Pontian Lyra
1 (one) for the direction Nei
