Panagiotis Vergos was born in Athens in 1987. His origins in Anemotia on Lesvos had a catalytic effect on his first musical impulses, which came from the local orchestras of the island. He began his musical career and his involvement with the santoor in 1995. His teacher in his first musical steps was the santoor virtuoso Dimitris Kofteros.
He holds a higher theoretical degree (Harmony-Antiphony) and a Diploma in Byzantine Music.

From 2004 to 2009 she worked as a regular member of the orchestra of the band “Greek Dances of Dora Stratos”, giving daily performances and participating in cultural events in Greece and abroad. He also worked as a teacher at the music schools of Lamia and Alimos, while from 2008 to 2014 he taught santouri at the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus, in the department of Folk and Traditional Music, while in the same year he began his collaboration with the Centre for Greek Music “Phoebus Anogeianakis” where he teaches until today.

Since 2018 she teaches at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in the Department of Music Studies, in the programme “Performance and Interpretation of Traditional Music”.

Since 2008 he has been a member of Nikos Economides’ orchestra, participating in recordings and numerous concerts in Greece and abroad. He collaborates with renowned artists of the Greek traditional folk and art music scene in television programmes, radio shows and specials, as well as in recordings of music collections.

In 2016 he released his first solo album entitled Skopis of Lesvos and in 2018 he released Journey to Lesvos. Faithful to the musical tradition, he emphasizes the style and the musical idiom, insisting on the performance and interpretation of the tunes and songs of each region of Greece.
